I’m excited to be one of the stallholders again at Lake Mac Meet the Makers on Saturday 13 June 2026! I’ve had a stall at both years’ previous Meet the Makers and I am pleased to announce that I will be there again this year! Below are some images of the stall I had last year
Meet the Makers is a whole day event where artists and makers from across Lake Macquarie will showcase and demonstrate their practice to the community at the Museum of Art and Culture, yapang (MAC yapang).
There are over 40 artists participating in this year’s event! Artists represent a broad range of mediums including painting, drawing, textile art, glass making, ceramics and more.
Members of the public will have the opportunity meet artists, learn more about their creative process and purchase unique artworks to take home.
Come along, support your Lake Mac makers, and enjoy an arts-filled day by the beautiful lake.
The event will take place from 10am β 4pm in the marquee and foyer of MAC yapang, 1A First Street, Booragul
Solo exhibition βTropivonioβ β original paintings by Margo Humphries at Windale Hub Windale Hub, bilyabayi, 20 Lake St, Windale 2 February 2026 β 19 May 2026 Mondays to Fridays 9am to 5pm; Saturdays 9am β 12pm
Step into abstract landscapes, patterns and combinations of the two through Margoβs latest exhibition, Tropivonio. This solo exhibition by Margo Humphries reveals the numerous styles practised by the artist and how this wide variety of anything and everything meets bursts of bright colour. These vibrant works on paper and canvas predominately reflect dynamic patterns and landscape scenes. βFor most of the works in this exhibition my process was instinctive. I often begin with one idea from memory or the natural world which then leads to starting a painting and letting this tell me where to go next. Painting allows me to transform experimental colours and concepts into something new β obscurely at first and then layering until the image feels like it reveals itselfβ, Margo Humphries. In addition to series of actions that are sometimes impulsive and sometimes slow and considered, the surfaces bear the record, and a lot of the surfaces have a thick and buttery texture from the spontaneous techniques from guiding and steering the paint. This exhibition is an opportunity to present how Margo enjoys the practice of painting, the colour, and how it usually develops into making things brighter
Margo is a very active Lake Macquarie-based visual artist who has had a stall at every Art Bazaar since 2012. Margo also joined the Hunter Arts Network committee that year and is currently the Publicity Officer. Margo is originally from Taree and moved to the area 22 years ago. Margo has a visual vocabulary β her original paintings, textiles and hand painted patterns have made her known for her bright colourful ideas and wide variety of different styles. The energy in Margoβs creations appears to be limitless. Margo loves creating works that you could stare at for hours, and is always busy creating new works to keep up with the demand of her best selling art. For Margo, the creative voyage along the way is equally significant as the outcome.

Windale Hub is home to the Fab Lab, an innovative digital fabrication lab featuring advanced manufacturing equipment. The venue also boasts a professional recording studio and an on-site cafe.

New indoor venue for Art Bazaar and new June market!Β HAN Art Bazaar is excited to announce that we have sourced a new indoor venue. The recent unfavorable weather conditions resulting in repeated cancellations has led to the decision. The next two Art Bazaars are now being held at St Thereseβs Primary School, Royal St, New Lambton which is still a short distance from the regular Lambton Park location.
Along with the new indoor venue a new make-up date has also been announced for Sunday 29 June from 10am to 3pm.
Art Bazaar will also be held at St Thereseβs Primary School, Royal St, New Lambton on Sunday 31 August from 10am to 3pm. This date was originally being held at Lambton Park.
Applications for stallholders are now open and new stallholders are always welcome to apply. The stall fee is a very affordable $70.00
Hunter Arts Network Art Bazaar is a high quality artisan market that has been held since 2002. Unfortunately tomorrow’s May Art Bazaar has been cancelled by Council due to the park being underwater. The next market will be held at Lambton Park on Sunday 31 August 2025.
I am a regular stallholder at this event who are all from the Hunter region of NSW. All stallholders are creative makers who have been selected by Hunter Arts Network because of their unique, handmade, high quality and original work. While wandering the stalls, enjoy live entertainment, food trucks and coffee. Art Bazaar continually brings the handmade art community to loyal followers who find gifts or treats for themselves, while meeting the local Hunter makers and artists they are supporting.
Art Bazaar will be returning to Lambton Park in 2025 on:
Sunday 31 August
Sunday 30 November
Hunter Arts Network is run by a dedicated committee of volunteers who have also worked hard to celebrate all modalities of visual arts and the committee that has come together continues to do an amazing job to make this happen.
Be a part of the Art Bazaar we have come to know today, which is now held at Lambton Park
The stall fees are very affordable for stallholders and food/coffee trucks:
You must ensure your market tent is heavily weighed down
Safety comes first and our major concern is the wind and we usually expect a bit of wind in the afternoon. Council has advised that pegs are no longer allowed in the park. Please pack weights to secure your gazebo. Weights must be around 15kg per leg and an inspection will be carried out at set up and no weights or flimsy weights will not be allowed. If bringing water weights it is often a good idea fill your water weights before packing them.
Please note Art Bazaar is an outdoor market so please be prepared for the weather for yourself and your work β please bring suitable footwear and attire and protection to cover your stall
HAN membership
All stallholders need to first apply for a Hunter Arts Network membership.
This membership fee also includes your public liability insurance for your stall at Art Bazaar (The membership year runs from 1 January β 31 December and will need to re-join the following year).
We now also provide help to unload and re-load your vehicle! (Thanks to Newcastle Menβs Shed)
When you join HAN you are joining a community of like-minded members with the support of a hard working committee and HAN is Not-for-profit
*The fees for membership are: $65 for individuals $90 for groups of 3 or less $110 for large groups, galleries, businesses or community organisations.
