We were very pleased to have another successful Art Bazaar today at St Therese’s New Lambton. After a sudden downpour and heavy rain this morning which was replaced with blue skies just before we officially started. It was great to see the hall full of stallholders who are all local and approved by Hunter Arts Network for their originality, quality and creativity. The food, coffee and entertainment added to the enjoyment by the constant large crowds coming through. Our new 2pm finish time which we needed to change to was praised among stallholders as well. Our next Art Bazaar will be held here again in August.

This year I am participating in the Incognito Art Show for the first time!
The Incognito Art Show is a not-for-profit organisation supporting Australian artists. We run Australia’s biggest and most inclusive art show.
All artworks are A5 size and $100 each + $10 delivery with 100% profits are donated to their charity partners. There is an option for framing with + calculated delivery
Artists are anonymous before you buy, with their name and signature revealed on the reverse side of the artwork.

Now, in its third year running Off the Wall is a celebration of the wealth of artistic talent in the Lake Macquarie and Hunter regions.
Developed with the focus of supporting Lake Macquarie’s diverse creative community, Off the Wall establishes an opportunity for artists to display and sell work while building involvement, representation, and connection.
Artists of all stages in their creative career from the Lake Macquarie and Hunter Region are invited to participate.
Continuing the theme of Celebrate with MAC yapang, artists are encouraged to create work that celebrates Lake Macquarie as a destination, a diverse landscape, or a rich and vibrant community.

Painting description – Just like a lot of the visual work I create and design this piece has become a pattern. The pattern in this piece is based on a group of sequins of different colours. These not only look sparkly but when light is angled or flashed at sequins they change the colour of light you see. This unmistakable 3D dazzle is also represented by thicker paint sticking up on some areas on the canvas.

Solo exhibition “Tropivonio” – original paintings by Margo Humphries at Windale Hub Windale Hub, bilyabayi, 20 Lake St, Windale 2 February 2026 – 19 May 2026 Mondays to Fridays 9am to 5pm; Saturdays 9am – 12pm
Step into abstract landscapes, patterns and combinations of the two through Margo’s latest exhibition, Tropivonio. This solo exhibition by Margo Humphries reveals the numerous styles practised by the artist and how this wide variety of anything and everything meets bursts of bright colour. These vibrant works on paper and canvas predominately reflect dynamic patterns and landscape scenes. “For most of the works in this exhibition my process was instinctive. I often begin with one idea from memory or the natural world which then leads to starting a painting and letting this tell me where to go next. Painting allows me to transform experimental colours and concepts into something new – obscurely at first and then layering until the image feels like it reveals itself”, Margo Humphries. In addition to series of actions that are sometimes impulsive and sometimes slow and considered, the surfaces bear the record, and a lot of the surfaces have a thick and buttery texture from the spontaneous techniques from guiding and steering the paint.This exhibition is an opportunity to present how Margo enjoys the practice of painting, the colour, and how it usually develops into making things brighter
Margo is a very active Lake Macquarie-based visual artist who has had a stall at every Art Bazaar since 2012. Margo also joined the Hunter Arts Network committee that year and is currently the Publicity Officer. Margo is originally from Taree and moved to the area 22 years ago. Margo has a visual vocabulary – her original paintings, textiles and hand painted patterns have made her known for her bright colourful ideas and wide variety of different styles. The energy in Margo’s creations appears to be limitless. Margo loves creating works that you could stare at for hours, and is always busy creating new works to keep up with the demand of her best selling art. For Margo, the creative voyage along the way is equally significant as the outcome.
About the venue: Windale Hub is Lake Macquarie’s newest high-tech venue featuring flexible social spaces, contemporary library services and multi-purpose community facilities.
Designed as Windale’s community lounge room, the hub provides a safe, relaxing and welcoming space for people of all ages to come together to learn, create and innovate.
Windale Hub is home to the Fab Lab, an innovative digital fabrication lab featuring advanced manufacturing equipment. The venue also boasts a professional recording studio and an on-site cafe.
