I’m excited because next month Hunter Arts Network Art Bazaar returns to Lambton Park on Sunday 26 March 2023. We will be there from 10am to 3pm. I am one of the sixty Hunter Arts Network members to have a stall at the market. This is where I have my artworks for sale. I have had a stall at every Art Bazaar for the last nine years.
Art Bazaar has been held every year since 2002! When Art Bazaar began it was originally held in Laman Street. Art Bazaar started with an idea from Newcastle City Council and this is how Hunter Arts Network was formed. Twenty years ago Art Bazaar began to develop a loyal following and fan base. HAN is run by a dedicated committee of volunteers who have also worked hard to celebrate all modalities of visual arts and the committee that has come together continues to do an amazing job to make this happen.
Stallholders are selected based on the originality and quality of their wares โ so thereโs plenty to capture your imagination. Bring the family or meet up with friends to wander the stalls to find unique gifts or treat for yourself, and meet the local Hunter makers and artists.
After what has been some patchy Covid years by purchasing direct from the makers youโll be supporting their hand made work and you get to take home a one-of-a kind treasure
All stallholders are members of Hunter Arts Network. The event showcases their unique, handmade artisan goods including a wide variety of carefully selected stalls featuring premium local artisan handmade products. Art Bazaar has cemented itโs reputation since 2002 as the event that showcases the Hunterโs creative & vibrant art community that locals & visitors look forward to several times every year. Food trucks, coffee and entertainment is also on offer.
These events will be conducted in accordance with State Government Covid-19 restrictions which may change or apply at these times

I took this photo today at sunrise (18 February 2023). The day was a hot 34 degrees in the middle of the heat wave here in Newcastle, Australia.

Thank you to everyone who attended Hunter Arts Network Art Bazaar today at Lambton Park and supported our talented artists and artisans. We were thrilled to have so many new stallholders who joined so many other local incredible makers. Although the day turned out to be scorching hot it was a successful day for many with crowds getting in early to beat the heat.

There are four works in this series which I made this year. $190.00 each ๐๏ธ Shop at my stall at Hunter Arts Network Art Bazaar at Lambton Park on Sunday 27 November
I re-purposed two stretched canvases by removing them from their stretcher frames, then I undercoated them with paint, stitched both canvases together, sewed a different and unique pattern-image on each canvas, then more painting to finish. Each work is 50cm x 50cm framed

These are all of my original works. I have had a bit of fun creating these mash-ups and they seem to have worked well and brought out some similar elements which I didn’t realise until I paired them up!

These two paintings were inspired by microscopic Phytoplankton cells, surrounded by the upper sunlit layer of the ocean. The first painting resembles a magnification of x 250 and the second painting resembles a magnification of x 500

This is work in progress
